Are you a visionary Oral/Dental Therapist looking to take on a key leadership role? The Professional Clinical Leader - Dental/Oral Therapy position based in the Auckland Regional Dental service will be a part of the wider Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora, Waitematā Allied Health Professional and Clinical Leadership team.


A key aspect of this role is to provide leadership in clinical practice and participate in the development of the future vision for Dental/Oral Health Therapy within the Auckland Regional Dental Service (ARDS).

If successful, you will have a strong role to play in leading and coordinating relevant continuing professional development activities to ensure that the highest standards of practice are consistently delivered.


The role reports directly to the Associate Chief of Allied Health, Scientific and Technical Professions Officer and Operations Manager (ARDS), and works collaboratively with the Allied Health Professional Leadership team, ARDS Leadership Team, Team Leaders and Clinical Educators, Clinical Coaches and Health New Zealand/ Te Whatu Ora, Waitematā Quality Management Team.


If successful you will be a key component in the Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora, Waitematā clinical governance framework, with responsibility for strategic development of your profession, leading and developing effective strategies and action plans that will achieve optimum efficiency and standards of practice across the service.


You will need / have the following:
At least 7 years' experience in a professional/clinical role with a leadership component

Dental Therapy or Oral HealthTherapy qualification and hold current annual practicing certificate

Excellent team player ensuring strong team environment

Able to influence and use appropriate interpersonal skills to inspire and guide others

Project management and quality improvement experience at an organisational level

Improvement focus :
striving to improve whilst maintaining quality of service, delivery

Understanding of the factors driving inequities for Māori and a desire to address these at every level

Commitment to providing outstanding care to our community
