**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We are on the lookout for a Senior Mental Health Case Manager. This is a vital role as the wellbeing of our students is of upmost importance. The role is responsible for supporting students who live with diagnosed and ongoing mental health related needs through ongoing case management including assessments, provision of advice, development of support plans, identification of resources and appropriate referrals.

Other responsibilities include:

- Assess risk and refer critical situations in a professional and responsive manner
- Maintain regular communication with those involved, including the person who raised the concern, the student/s and other interested parties
- Link students to the appropriate support, from self-help information to specialist services, and document advice in a support plan

This is a Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Fixed Term role for 14 months. The salary range for this role is $76,200 - $94,100 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

**Qualifications**:
**He kōrero mōu | About you**
- Tertiary-level qualification or equivalent in disciplines including OT, social work, psychotherapy (e.g. allied health)
- Registered health practitioner or current membership of a relevant professional body
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with or providing mental health support to students or young people with mental health conditions
- Demonstrated experience at crisis intervention, as well as experience of key-working
- Proven experience and ability to assess complex needs, and to identify and secure specific resources and strategies to reasonably meet those needs.

- Knowledge of te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for professional practice in NZ
- Cultural competence in working with the diversity of the student population.
- Strength in building and maintaining relationships with diverse individuals and groups
- IT literacy including MS Office
- Excellent self-motivation, time management and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters
- Excellent organisational abilities
- Effective problem-solving skills which reflect flexibility, adaptability and innovation
