A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced and qualified mental health clinician to play a key role in the personal and academic development of tertiary students. This role is located within AUT's student counselling and mental health team which operates under Te Whānau o te Ara Whāriki - Student Services and Administration. The AUT counselling and mental health team carry out assessments and provide solution-focused therapeutic interventions. Our team works closely with other support services to provide a holistic and wrap-around support for students with additional needs. This role will be part of our front of house team to provide support with referral management, initial assessments using a single session approach and urgent assessments.
We are looking for an experienced mental health professional with a genuine service-leadership mindset who may come from a youth, educational, statutory, or community setting and has a proven ability to provide comprehensive assessments and risk management in a fast paced environment. AUT is keen to employ people who may contribute to the diversity of the university and are passionate about the wellbeing of tertiary learners.
As an experienced mental health professional with proven success in a therapeutic role, you will also bring:
- A demonstrated commitment in your practice to Te Reo Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Tikanga Māori.
- Experience in assessment, brief intervention and risk management is essential.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant health profession such as social work, counselling, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy or similar.
- Current annual practicing certificate.
- Minimum of five year's clinical experience post qualification, as a health professional within mental health, providing therapeutic intervention, assessment, and case management.
This position will be primarily based in the North Campus with some time also on the city campus.
This role is a 12 month fixed term role, full time, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.

**Salary Range**:$91,500 - $111,500 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
