**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

Ashburton Hospital's café, caters to the needs of our tūroro (patients), visitors and kaimahi (staff) on campus daily.

Our retail cookery team are responsible for ensuring that the needs of each are met to the highest standard. Following standardised recipes and using creative flair to present food that we can be proud of. Of course, the role also includes general kitchen duties such as ensuring stock rotation, cleaning dishes and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.

We had 3 fixed term roles available, ranging from 3 months to 8 months. Two roles are full time, fixed term and the other is 18 hours per week. Please clearly indicate your preference on your cover letter.

In this position you will be responsible for carrying out the general café and cleaning duties which will include washing dishes, preparing and presenting food. You will provide great customer service to our tūroro (patients) and their whānau along with the responsibility of cash handling.

Skills required for this role:

- Hard working team player
- Reliable with good time management
- Flexible approach and a ‘can do’ attitude
- Able to communicate effectively
- Previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous
