Casual Cook

Are you an accomplished home cook looking to pick up a part-time job or additional hours?

We are on the lookout for a passionate Cook who would enjoy the opportunity to share their culinary skills with the 50 residents who call Terrace View Resthome in Ashburton home.

This is a casual position to cover both Cook and Catering Assistant shifts as and when required to fill gaps in the roster and cover leave, so we are looking for someone who is flexible to work across the various shifts of a 7-day roster. We anticipate this being 3-4 shifts per month.

This position does not require a qualified chef but would suit someone with knowledge and experience in preparing, cooking, and plating wholesome food in a home or community setting. Recipes are provided and training will be given. To be successful you will need to:

- Be friendly and engaging and enjoy making the day of residents by serving amazing meals.
- Have an understanding of dietary requirements, allergies, and food control regulations.
- Be an exceptional team player with a flexible and committed attitude.
- Have good time management skills.
- Be able to work safely in a commercial kitchen with large hot pots and trays.
- Be comfortable taking responsibility and able to work sole charge when necessary.
