At Manatū Hauora - Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
The Regulation & Monitoring Directorate is responsible for leading the delivery of two of Manatū Hauora's primary roles - system monitoring and regulation. These two roles work together to ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe services that meet government and ministerial expectations.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
You will build the development and implementation of a strategic system-level approach to monitoring health and the collective performance of health entities.
You will take a lead in the development of reporting and advice to Ministers on the functioning of different aspects of the health system, bringing together and working with colleagues from across the organisation who hold specific monitoring functions.
Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
- Proven thought leadership and senior policy expertise with a focus on diagnosing and addressing system performance issues.
- Strategic leadership skills to design, develop, and implement projects, identifying risks and opportunities in complex systems.
- Exceptional communication abilities to clearly convey complex issues to diverse audiences and articulate key insights.
- Strong relationship management experience in engaging with sector groups and agencies, with a thorough understanding of the machinery of Government.
- In-depth knowledge of the health system and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles with a commitment to embedding these in monitoring and improving system performance.
