Auckland City, New Zealand Heartland Bank Ltd Full time

**Head of Regulatory Affairs**

Hi, I'm Brooklyn, Talent Acquisition Lead at Heartland Bank. I have an awesome opportunity I'd love to share with you. Here's some info:
**Is this your next role?**

In this newly created role, you'll be responsible for ensuring that Heartland has clear visibility over its regulatory obligations and regulatory reporting calendar, how it meets those obligations, and a clear understanding of the strategic objective of its regulators.

You'll be the primary liaison point with our NZ Regulators and with other key external stakeholders (such as the NZBA).

Key to your success will be your ability to communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders in order to understand both the current state, the potential impact of any proposed regulatory changes, and to advocate for internal change and/or regulatory change (where required).

**Does this sound like you?**
You're a strategic leader with proven experience as a legal or regulatory professional. You're skilled in planning, project management, quality delivery as well as judgement and presentation to the board and executives. Approachable and easy to talk to, you're an excellent communicator who manages complexity and ambiguity with ease.

**You're a pro with**:

- High degree of familiarity with either prudential, market conduct or consumer credit obligations faced by a NZ registered bank.
- Knowledge of regulatory environment and compliance
- Existing networks within NZ's (or Australia's) financial services sector would be an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills - confidence interacting with a range of people (key executive stakeholders, regulators)
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Relationship building - ability to grow and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and executive teams.
- Effective time-management skills - ability to manage time effectively while working on multiple projects and with deadlines.
