**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We are looking for a Technologist to work on research projects in our Power Electronics Lab in New Market campus. You will be working as an expert in the area of power electronics to support academic staff, students and industry partners. To undertake design, develop and test activities and provide leadership in Power Electronics lab to help focus and integrate the new technology smoothly into production.

In addition, you will support the upkeep and maintenance of the lab ensuring staff and students adhere to all Health and Safety operating procedures and regulations and are aware of the risks and requirements in the use of specialised scientific equipment.

This is a part-time, 18.75 hours per week role for 48 months. The salary range for this role is $66,600 - $88,000 prorated per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**
- An experienced electronics engineer/technician, with strong relevant technical skills - expertise in Power electronics related areas including wireless power transfer, electric vehicle charging, electromagnetic control (EMC), Thermal management,
- Skilled in circuit and PCB design, and electronic systems development (hardware and software).
- Proactive and self-motivated to take the initiative to run the experiments effectively - planning out and organising the workload and priorities and addressing issues swiftly when required.
- Highly knowledgeable and experienced in relevant health and safety protocols, practices and risks, with proven experience in risk assessment and mitigation.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills - to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds and with a range of skill levels.
