We are seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic National Health and Safety Manager for this large business with operations across New Zealand.

You will lead the HSEQ activities across all of NZ and will report directly to the Company Secretary for Australia and New Zealand. You will have proven management capability and will be supported by a highly skilled H&S Administrator and HSEQ Coordinator while providing quality guidance and mentorship. You will have the autonomy to drive your own strategy. This is a relatively low-risk environment, but it is essential that you are a people person who can drive change through influencing. In addition to Health and Safety, this role will see you involved in wellbeing and mental health initiatives for staff members.

In this role, you will provide Health and Safety leadership by partnering with business leaders and by influencing workers to support the implementation of agreed health and safety goals and initiatives. You'll be responsible for promoting and delivering best practice Health and Safety processes, systems, and practices, with the key focus being to partner with the business to provide advice, guidance, and assistance. You will need to be flexible in your approach to support the diverse range of stakeholders. This is a hands-on role, and our ideal person will be able to hit the ground running, have an inquisitive nature and the ability to adapt to new environments. This is a large business, and although a low-risk environment, this will be a busy role, so it is essential we find someone at the top of their game, who has a people-centric approach.

You will need to demonstrate your knowledge of good risk management principles and knowledge of best practice OSH management systems based on credible references such as 31000, 45001, 14001, and 9001 and any applicable legislation. **About You**
- Proven ability to embed a Health and Safety operating system and support project teams to deliver best practice and strong employee engagement.
- Capable of developing strong relationships and acting as a coach, mentor and guide to support staff to perform in the safest manner at all times.
- Ability to coach and guide staff to improve their technical competence in safety system requirements.
- HSNO training and/or experience
- Minimum OSH diploma qualification
