We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to oversee Butchery production at our Christchurch Branch.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage and guide the team, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional quality products.
The Job:
Full-time permanent 
Pay rate: $28 - $30 per hour
Location: 220 Cumnor Place, Woolston, Christchurch
Roster: Monday to Friday, occasional Saturdays
Hours: 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm
About the Role:
As Team Leader, you will:
Supervise and lead the butchery team, ensuring production targets and quality standards are met.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations.
Monitor inventory levels, minimise waste, and ensure proper storage and rotation of stock.
Train and coach team members on techniques, safety, and company policies.
Coordinate with processing teams and provide operational support across departments.
Ensure accurate packing, labelling, and adherence to operational SOPs.
Act as the go-to person for issue resolution and operational continuity.
The person: 
You will possess an understanding of meat product handling, quality control, and dispatch processes.
You will ideally have relevant experience leading a team either in the Butchery or Warehousing industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who:
Has NZQCF Level 4 qualification or above with a year of experience in Butchery or Warehouse, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in a food environment.
Current valid forklift license or willing to have one.
Thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
Enjoy working hands-on with Butchery.
Possess strong communication, leadership and team-building skills.
Have a proven track record of achieving operational efficiency.
Is able to work in a cold environment.
Is physically fit and strong as some heavy lifting is involved.
Possess some good knife-handling skills
