If you prefer certainty over upside, structure over speed or instructions over initiative — this role is not for you. If you want to work directly with a former private equity founder, build a high‑impact AI‑enabled venture from scratch, and earn meaningful equity fast … keep reading. About The Private Equity Advantage (TPEA) TPEA is building an AI‑enabled, data‑driven platform helping New Zealand SMEs become Capital‑Fit. Think: private equity discipline + AI automation. This is a high‑conviction, founder‑led venture where execution quality determines speed and success. This is not a corporate environment — it is a true “builder’s dojo”. The Role: Founder’s Hand This is not a standard job. You will be the founder’s right hand — translating strategy into action, building systems, organising operations, coordinating contractors, engaging early users, and constructing the internal machine that will scale TPEA. You will have massive remit, real responsibility, and meaningful ownership. What You’ll Do (Execution Focus) Product Build: Ship fast, and help design and deliver product experiments. Infrastructure: Build structures for reporting. Ensure data accuracy, structure, and repeatability. Operations & Internal Systems: Run founder–operator sprints; track and close loops. Build systems, documentation, and processes. Introduce automation (AI tools, low‑code, workflows). Go‑to‑Market & Engagement: Engage early SME customers and investor groups. Gather feedback and translate it into product actions. Support early GTM, partnerships, and onboarding. This is a builder role. You will create, refine, and optimise constantly. Who You Are — The Ideal Candidate Very smart, fast learner, intellectually curious. Strong execution bias — gets things done. Comfortable with ambiguity, pace, and imperfect information. Low‑ego, coachable, emotionally stable. Data‑literate or eager to learn. Comfortable with AI tools and automation. Motivated by ownership and long‑term upside. Values mentorship and accelerated development. Comfortable with an equity‑first arrangement until salary kicks in. Bonus (Not Required) Early‑stage startup experience. Exposure to product, analytics, automation. Ambition to grow into COO / Product‑Ops Lead. Final Self‑Qualification (If these feel uncomfortable, DO NOT apply) You prefer stability over upside. You want a salary‑first role. You need detailed instructions. You dislike ambiguity or pace. You’re not excited about using AI tools daily. You think “impossible” means it can’t be done. If these energise you, you’ll thrive here. What You Get Meaningful equity from day one. Direct mentorship from a founder with 25 years in PE/VC. A career‑defining apprenticeship in capital, AI, and venture building. A true operator role where you will learn everything. Opportunity to help build a platform that could reshape New Zealand’s mid‑market. Want the fastest path to becoming a world‑class operator? This is it. Apply now if you are ready to build. To be considered for this role, you must submit the following (via Linked In Application or email) Your CV or Linked In profile. Answers to the 3 screening questions below (This is your first selection test). Please paste your answers directly into your Linked In cover note or the body of your email. Screening Questions (Your First Selection Test) In 4–6 sentences, why does this role appeal to you right now? Tell me about one situation where you took ownership and significantly improved something (a process, system, or result). What did you do? How are you currently using AI tools (if at all) to make your work or life more effective?
