Senior Manager Property Tax December 12, 2024 by John O'Donnell An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Property Tax specialist to join a leading consulting firm as they expand their Tax presence across the New Zealand market.
Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager/Senior Manager to join their Property Tax team.
Key Responsibilities: You will guide and support junior tax professionals on the team.
This includes training, providing feedback, and ensuring that the clients receive exceptional service through quality tax advice.
Keeping up to date with current property tax legislation.
You will need to stay informed on both national and international tax law changes, ensuring that your advice remains relevant and legally compliant.
Conduct research and apply findings into tax-related issues.
Analyse complex information and deliver clear, actionable tax opinions and strategies to assist clients.
Provide specific tax advice in relation to property, ensuring that clients are fully compliant and informed.
Cooperate with other teams within the firm to deliver comprehensive solutions for clients.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Develop and continue strong relationships with clients by acting as a confident advisor.
Deliver communication and advice in a timely and effective manner.
You will help develop and refine best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the firm.
Ideal Candidate: Prior tax compliance & advisory experience within a CA firm, preferably Big 4 or mid-tier firm.
Between 5 - 7 years’ experience in Tax advisory roles.
Strong communication, client and stakeholder management experience.
Past experience in coaching and managing a team of direct reports.
You could be an experienced Tax professional currently looking for that step towards more advisory-based work, or someone looking to move from a commercial tax environment into practice.
Experience in tax legislation and case law.
Experience in the property sector is a bonus.
CA/CPA qualified, and looking to remain long term in the professional service industry.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
