Senior Manager Property Tax

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Property Tax specialist to join a leading consulting firm as they expand their Tax presence across the New Zealand market.

Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager/Senior Manager to join their Property Tax team.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Guide and support junior tax professionals on the team, including training, providing feedback, and ensuring exceptional service through quality tax advice.
  2. Keep up to date with current property tax legislation, staying informed on national and international tax law changes to ensure relevant and legally compliant advice.
  3. Conduct research and apply findings to tax-related issues.
  4. Analyze complex information and deliver clear, actionable tax opinions and strategies to assist clients.
  5. Provide specific tax advice in relation to property, ensuring clients are fully compliant and informed.
  6. Cooperate with other teams within the firm to deliver comprehensive solutions for clients.
  7. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients by acting as a confident advisor.
  9. Deliver communication and advice in a timely and effective manner.
  10. Help develop and refine best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the firm.

Ideal Candidate:
  1. Prior tax compliance & advisory experience within a CA firm, preferably Big 4 or mid-tier firm.
  2. 5 - 7 years’ experience in Tax advisory roles.
  3. Strong communication, client, and stakeholder management experience.
  4. Past experience in coaching and managing a team of direct reports.
  5. Experience in tax legislation and case law.
  6. Experience in the property sector is a bonus.
  7. CA/CPA qualified, looking to remain long term in the professional service industry.
  8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
