Job brief We"re looking for self-sufficient people who can hit the ground running.
Another motivated superstar needs to join our expanding team.
We are searching for experienced boat builders and repairers with experience in chopper guns, gel coat applications, and hand laminating and trimming parts.
AÂ minimum of three years of experience is required.
Responsibilitiesâ Builds, repairs, and modifies boats.â Studies plans and specifications and prepares templates and scale plans for fabrication, installation, and repair work.â Assembles shells of boats.â Determines repair requirements and procedure.â May make hull moulds and fabricate and repair vessels using materials such as aluminium, wood, glass, reinforced plastics, carbon fibre, Kevlar, fibreglass, andâ Builds frames, decking, fittings, machines, shafts and safety equipment.â Builds and installs structures such as cabins, machine mountings, propeller supports and rudders.â Does finishing work such as filling and fairing, painting.â Operates machines to apply gelcoat, colouring, and fibre-reinforced plastic to moulds to produce fibreglass and laminated products.â Operate controls to regulate temperature, pressure, speed and flow of operation.â Measure and load materials, items and ingredients for mixing into machines and feeding mechanisms.â Monitor operation, regulate material supply and add chemicals and colourants to the mixture.â Operate rollers to remove air.â Examine the output for defects and conformity to specifications.â Perform minor repairs and maintain production records.
Requirements and Skillsâ At least three years of relevant experience.â Experience using chopper gunâ Experience with hand-laying and trimming fibreglass laminate.â Experience working with polyester resin.â Gel coating experience.â Experience working on boat hulls is a plus.â Be flexible with work hours.â Be willing to undergo occasional drug tests while employed.
This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is $29.66-$32.00Â (based on your experience level).
The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 50 hours maximum per week to be worked between Monday to Thursday between 8 am and 4.30 pm, Friday 8 am - 4 pm and may be required to work onweekends.
