Position Title: Bar Manager Employer: Churchil Tavern Limited Location: Christchurch Type of Employment: Full-Time (Minimum 30 hours per week)Pay Rate: $30–$35 per hour Business Operating Hours: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday to Sunday Role Summary Churchil Tavern Limited is seeking a full-time Bar Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of our bar operations, ensure high-quality service, and maintain compliance with all relevant hospitality regulations. Minimum Qualifications / Experience Required The successful applicant must have: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in bar or hospitality management, OR A New Zealand Register Diploma (Level 4) or higher qualification in a related hospitality or retail field. Job Duties & Responsibilities The Bar Manager will be responsible for: Managing daily bar operations and ensuring smooth service throughout all opening hours. Supervising staff, preparing work rosters, allocating duties, and maintaining service quality. Delivering excellent customer service and resolving any issues or complaints professionally. Monitoring stock levels, conducting stocktakes, ordering beverages and bar supplies as needed. Coordinating with suppliers, managing deliveries, and maintaining positive supplier relationships. Training and supporting staff in bar service, customer service, hygiene, safety, and alcohol licensing obligations. Managing cash handling procedures, daily sales reconciliation, and keeping accurate records. Ensuring compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act, food safety standards, and workplace health and safety rules. Assisting with promotional activities and contributing ideas to improve bar performance and offerings. Maintaining cleanliness, safety, and security standards across the bar premises. Employment Conditions Minimum 30 paid hours per week Work roster may include weekdays, weekends, and public holidays Pay rate: $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience Position is permanent and ongoing All work performed at Churchil Tavern Limited, Christchurch
