Be part of New Zealand's renewable energy future as part of the Mercury Hydro rehabilitation Team focusing on the upgrades of key generation assets on the Waikato River.
Our Project Managers play a pivotal role leading these significant infrastructure upgrade projects.
We are looking for an experienced Senior / Principal Project Manager to hit the ground running where you will play an important role and contribute towards the achievement of Mercury's future while working on large iconic pieces of critical infrastructure on the Waikato River in a varied and challenging role.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in a large rehabilitation program of work in a multi-year multi-site opportunity where you'll be leading a $300+MNZD contract over 10 years.
You'll be joining a team of 12 people, who enjoy collaborating and sharing their knowledge and skills.

Key responsibilities include: Ownership and leadership of projects to deliver these large technically diverse projects Strong customer service and relationship focus both internal and external Effective management of multi-disciplinary project teams, Engineering, Financial, contractors and other resources Deliver projects to defined environmental, health and safety requirements Focus on Financial, Quality and Timely performance of assigned projects Provide innovative and effective solutions to challenges We are looking for: Extensive experience managing and leading technical teams in engineering project delivery Experienced in project/programme management Strong financial, risk management and commercial acumen Experience in engaging with key strategic stakeholders Experience in managing contracts for project delivery Broad experience in engineering and an in-depth knowledge of the processes involved in planning, and delivering engineering projects An engineering qualification and project management experience within the Energy industry is desirable A Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng or equivalent) and a professional member of Engineering NZ is desirable Mercury offers (full benefits are listed on our Career Page): Additional 5 days leave per annum (My Days)$400 one-off tax-free payment towards setting up your home office A diverse workplace where your unique abilities and talents will be recognised and encouraged Annual salary reviews with excellent parental leave policy, with the option to purchase additional leave The opportunities, career paths and facilities associated with working for one of New Zealand's largest multi-utility providers Flexible working policy - The autonomy and trust to work flexibly from our purpose-built premises and from home, recognising the value of this flexibility in the modern world Discounted health insurance and free life and income insurance Excellent well-being programme including up to $100 annual check-ups and confidential assistance programme Gender affirmation leave and supportive bereavement leave to be taken when you lose anyone close to you, including your pet Mercury is a learning organisation that is committed to providing you with opportunities to grow and develop that will benefit you now and in the future.
