Skills Required

Head Baker must have baking experience min of 5 years + and/or Cookery diploma of level 5 or above, however experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications, and experience with managing a diverse team of difference ages and backgrounds are beneficial
Bakers must have experience of min 3 years+ or Cookery/Baking level 4 minimum or above
Ability to work under pressure and in a hot kitchen
Ability to manage time effectively
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skill
Able to adapt and respond to change
Attention to detail, and quality control of all food and dishes at all stages of preparation, presentation and service

Responsibilities

Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients; kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods; preparing pastry fillings
Monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times; coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products; glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
Can operating machines which roll and mould dough and cut biscuits
Empty, clean and grease baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment.
The Head Baker is responsible for the maintaining and developing the baked goods menu, costing and food control plan.
And to create a production schedule and plan daily and weekly.
The group head baker will be assisting with selecting and training new staff and leading the baking teams across the group
The head baker is to also to assist with rostering of the baking teams across the stores in the group

Full time positions are minimum 30 hours to a maximum of 40 hours rostered weekly shifts. 
Part time considered but we are seeking full time chefs.
