Overview
The Grey Lynn Business Association (GLBA) is looking for a new General Manager (0.5 FTE) to continue the great work that has been done by GLBA over recent years and drive forward the BID implementation.
After overwhelming support from local businesses, we achieved BID status in July 2025, and through this, we will have more resources, stronger representation, and a unified voice for our local business community.
This is a very exciting time for GLBA, and this role will give you the opportunity to drive and shape the strategic direction of the association, working alongside and supporting the Board of experienced and driven local business owners.
Member support and community relations are a key aspect of this role, and you will be responsible for being the public face of GLBA, acting as the advocate for GLBA on issues of relevance to the community.
Strong communication, influencing skills and strong leadership are essential for this role.
The role will be approximately 20 hours a week, and we offer flexibility to work on a direct employed or contractor basis, and to be flexible on when hours are worked, provided, of course, that the needs of GLBA are met.
Responsibilities
Drive and shape the strategic direction of GLBA.
Support the Board of local business owners in decision‑making.
Be the public face of GLBA and advocate for the association on community issues.
Engage with members to provide support and foster community relations.
Manage time commitments (20 hours per week) flexibly, ensuring GLBA needs are met.
