The role/Te mahiAs a Collection Librarian, you will play a vital role in curating and maintaining a diverse, accessible, and dynamic collection that supports the evolving needs of students and researchers.
Your expertise will help shape a library that fosters learning, research, and discovery.
Key responsibilities include:- Managing access to print and digital resources to ensure seamless discovery and usability.
- Applying cataloguing and metadata expertise to enhance content accessibility.
- Supporting interlibrary loan services and document delivery to meet academic and research needs.
- Collaborating with academic staff to develop reading lists and identify essential course resources.
- Contributing to the development of a balanced and inclusive collection that supports diverse perspectives and disciplines.
We are seeking a dedicated professional with a tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in library, heritage, or information management.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in library technical services, metadata management, and collection development, along with a strong understanding of bibliographic databases, print and electronic resources, and discovery interfaces.
Strong organisational skills are essential to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, while excellent communication, relationship-building abilities, and a collaborative mindset will support effective teamwork and engagement.
Familiarity with Te Reo Māori in professional contexts is desirable.
This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours) position, based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
