Marketing & Sales Trainee

You will learn about the relevant business, offerings, service & product lines within the local sales unit. Work on assigned projects/KPIs, focus on partnering with key stakeholders, and deliver on required tasks. You will engage with CMD/ LSM, supervisors, and mentors in a collaborative environment that encourages all voices to share their unique perspectives and fuel innovation. You will understand the local market and concept of segments and channels as applied in Hitachi Energy businesses in the local market. Collaborate with the local team to generate specific opportunities and map customers to understand the local market footprint. Understand local marketing plan and actively participate in supporting the local team. You will contribute to and participate in the account plan development, understand local account strategy and sales tactics for alignment with customer requirements for mid and long-term strategy. Maintain contacts: Work closely with the local/strategic account manager to maintain contacts and learn to build the player maps in Salesforce.com.
How do you make impact:

You will understand the concept of segments as applied in Hitachi Energy businesses in the local market. Associate with different main customer segments as Utilities, Industry, Transport and Data Centers.
You will understand the concept of channels as applied in Hitachi Energy businesses in local market. Collaborate with channel manager to generate opportunities and map customer to understand local market footprint.
You will associate in activities to provide visibility to broad solutions applied across segments.
You will coordinate and assist with developing business strategies and sales and marketing plans in partnership with local Country team. Participate in the budgeting process, including preparation of market data using Hitachi Energy marketing and sales tools, forecasting requirements and representing the Global Business Unit in the local market.
You will be responsible for managing certain purchase requisitions and purchase orders from entry (via SAP ERP system) to invoicing and everything in between to ensure timely delivery of our obligations, including drafting of monthly delivery reports as appropriate.
You will be establishing connections with new clients and nurturing existing ones within the local unit. Build relationships with key internal and external customers.
You will identify and research local sales leads. Support in maintaining SFDC pipeline. Customer visit reports. Understand regional / local market trends. Participate in the budgeting process, including preparation of market data using Hitachi Energy marketing and sales tools, forecasting requirements and representing the Global Business Unit in the local market.
You will analyze and report on SFDC data for customer information and contact details, pipeline, competitor information, customer profitability, market share, and other information.

Your background:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, commerce or engineering.
Previous history of good part-time work experience.
Demonstrates an attention to detail, is flexible to learn new skills, capable of managing multiple priorities, decisive and facilitates quality on-time performance.
High level of Microsoft Office literacy (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Effective written and oral communication.
Maintains a current, full NZ driver's license.
