Join us to inspire generous giving towards human rights impact

Amnesty International is a global movement that mobilises the humanity in everyone so that we can all live with care and respect for each other. Our vision is a world where everyone, everywhere enjoys their fundamental human rights.

Here in Aotearoa, we are a small but dedicated, motivated and fun team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced major donor fundraiser to join us as Philanthropy Manager to help inspire and nurture generous individuals, trusts and foundations to give to and support our human rights work.

It's an exciting time for Amnesty International Aotearoa New Zealand (AIANZ) with growing donor engagement and giving in this space. This role is pivotal to our taking the next leap forward for our high value fundraising.

Sound good? Here's what you will be doing... You will work closely with our Fundraising Director to develop and deliver our programmes for major and mid-level individual and institutional donors, and bequests. You will research and recruit new donors and co-ordinate the stewardship and engagement activities to achieve donor growth targets. You will support the development of our bequest programme and will manage and prepare grant funding applications. You will have the opportunity to meet and engage with some exceptional and passionate philanthropists and individuals across Aotearoa and cultivate opportunities for them to partner with us.

You'll be ideal for this role if you:
  • Are committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Have strong experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategy and plans.
  • Can demonstrate a proven ability to build and grow high value donations through intentional relationships with generous individuals and institutional donors within the for-impact sector.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of relationship-based fundraising.
  • Have sound leadership skills and high degree emotional intelligence.
  • Are known for your exceptional storytelling and presentation skills and are an all-around excellent communicator.

If this sounds like you, head over to our website https://amnesty.org.nz/work-with-us/ to find out more.

Equity, diversity and inclusion are very important to us, and we welcome applications from different background and circumstances. While we envisage that this full-time role is in Auckland, there is potential for the successful applicant to be based elsewhere in Aotearoa.

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience. We are people-centred and value the lives our people have outside of work, so we look forward to talking with you about our flexible working offer (including the option to work some hours from home).

To apply, please click on this link to submit your CV and cover letter explaining why you'd be the perfect person for the job: https://amnesty.bamboohr.com/careers/87.

Applications close Friday 25 April 2025 at 5pm.
