**Job Summary:** We're seeking a Solutions Architect to join our team in New Zealand, responsible for driving business growth and technical strategy for Stripe's users in the region.

The Solutions Architecture Team partners with our users to realize their full potential through the adoption of prescriptive solutions that drive their growth and success. As a Solutions Architect, you will work closely with our users, including founders, C-level executives, finance leaders, product design and engineering teams, to develop and execute on the account strategy for Stripe in market.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Be a founding member of Stripe's presence in New Zealand and be the steward of Stripe user's experiences with our product and APIs.
  • Support technical engagements in both New Zealand and Australia.
  • Drive thought leadership and be a trusted advisor for key business and technical stakeholders.
  • Work to deeply understand the customer's business objectives and design and apply Stripe's solutions to their challenges.
  • Lead strategy engagements with users to align to business priorities and secure the technical win.
  • Bring understanding of the New Zealand market to our Product and Engineering organizations.
  • Participate in sales forecasting, Quarterly Business Reviews, and account/territory planning.
  • Act as a crucial part of the sales team, providing technical insight and solutions to prospective and existing platform users.
  • Showcase the capability of Stripe's platform in solving business problems.

**Requirements:**

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role.
  • Executive engagement skills and presence.
  • Effective group-facilitation skills and confidence in proposing and leading customer meetings.
  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and API architecture.
  • Outstanding spoken and written communication skills.
  • Gather an in-depth understanding of all of Stripe's products and their applicability across diverse business models.
  • Ability to understand how a wide variety of applications interact with each other in a platform technology stack/ecosystem.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience as a customer-facing, domain expert in the payments space.
  • Prior experience driving technical sales and supporting them and their customer's unique requirements.
  • Can read, write, and understand code in one to many programming languages.
  • Experience with integrating Stripe or other RESTful APIs into web applications.
  • Experience in systems design, building and deploying complex applications.
  • Passionate about learning and actively seeks out knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently to develop a path forward with customers under ambiguous circumstances.
  • Strategic and creative thinker who can proactively identify challenges and maintain a positive approach when facing difficult obstacles.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work seamlessly with extended global teams to support our users.

**Pay and Benefits:** The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is NZ$216,000 - NZ$324,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. Benefits and additional compensation for this role may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends.
