You’ll be a driving force and strong leader who is an experienced solution architect and software engineer. You will have strong integration and cloud skills and be able to work closely with business, enterprise architects, and engineering squads. You will be part of our Home Lending and Insurance product group across a critical customer care transformation program of work ensuring that we deliver the desired customer and business outcomes while also driving the evolution of the technology product in-line with our strategic enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading architecture and engineering discussions.
- Advocate for the development of good architecture practices.
- Work closely with Product Group Leadership, Product Owners, Squads, Enterprise Architects and Agile Coaches to ensure we deliver quality & innovative products to our customers.
- Grow the technical expertise of delivery teams on performance, scalability, observability and other non-functionals.
- Be responsible for ensuring compliance with WNZL system health policies and regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in governance forums to ensure our solutions meet our organisational compliance requirements.
- Lead the development of solution architectures in specific lines of business but with the ability to extend across multiple lines of business.
- Lead change initiatives through the creation of High Level and Detailed Solution Architectures ensuring alignment to Business and Technology strategies and organisation Policies and standards.
- Identify and evaluate alternative architectures including the trade-offs in cost, performance, and scalability. This includes balancing intentional vs emergent architectures guided by principles, trade-offs, patterns.
- Contributes to architecture chapter uplift initiatives and be an active member of the “Solution Architecture Community of Practice” and participate in other relevant engineering and enterprise architecture communities.
Technical knowledge & experience:
You will be able to facilitate the creation of an architectural intent in line with the WNZL Enterprise Architecture strategy and roadmaps, with experience working in complex environments that have utilised the following skills:
- Experienced solution architect that is a strong all-rounder when it comes to integrating cloud and on-prem solutions to achieve enterprise-level compliant solutions.
- A confident and impactful communicator, able to clearly explain solution design to non-technical audiences, and technical design to technical audiences.
- Ability to work in a highly complex environment across many disparate technologies.
- Hadoop

- Data Mesh and an understanding of the concept of data as a product
