Territory Sales Manager Companion Animal Auckland

Your primary responsibility will be to maximize sales of our leading companion animal products into veterinary practices around the Auckland area.

What You Will Do

  • Achieve sales targets and activity levels for assigned territory and products.
  • Develop and implement territory plans to achieve sales targets, regularly revising activity against achievement.
  • Build, maintain and leverage strong business relationships to achieve results.
  • Utilise our technical services team in the territory to assist in delivery of technical messaging and drive sales, and provide technical and sales training to ensure accurate messaging is being transferred to the end user.
  • Identify customer needs and clearly communicate how our Animal Health products and services can provide solutions.
  • Identify and participate in all promotional tactics.
  • Ensure timely product complaint investigation, pricing queries, compliance issues and follow up requests are executed appropriately.
  • Provide corporate sales presentations.
  • Regularly analyse customer data to assist with territory, customer and pre-call planning, and the identification and targeting of high value customers.
  • Record customer interactions within CRM systems to inform next call objectives, and to assist in building a single view of the customer to inform marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, as well as a broader understanding of Animal Health issues.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge for competitor products to ensure appropriate positioning of our Animal Health products.
  • Ensure effective communication across the sales and marketing team, share knowledge and participate positively in sales team meetings and marketing-initiated forums.
  • Keep Regional Sales Manager/Sales Lead informed of competitor activity via regular reporting.
  • Ensure all business activity comply with all relevant Acts, policies and procedures.

What You Must have

Sales / Territory Management experience in the Animal Health or a related sector will be highly regarded but is not essential. Alternatively, you may have a Veterinary / Vet Nurse background. Sound product and sales training will be provided.

You possess:

  • Demonstrable sales aptitude.
  • Ability to build long term relationships.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other technologies (e.g. iPad).
  • Ability to convey technical information in a manner easily understood.
  • High level of flexibility and resilience.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to problem solve in a logical manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including audio visual presentations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and timeliness in responding to customer needs.
  • Ability to work well with others, demonstrating collaboration and inclusive behaviours.
  • The initiative to work well with minimal supervision.
