Sea Logistics Development Manager

Reporting to the General Manager Sea Logistics, this role will be responsible for leading and driving a team of seven Sea Logistics Business Development Managers based across Auckland, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga & Christchurch. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to implement strategies to redefine Sea Logistics sales at Kuehne+Nagel NZ Your Role You will have proven success in growing sales and margins, the ability to think laterally and strategically, relate and sell to all levels and be able to prepare and present business plans reflecting growth strategies. Your primary focus will be on providing guidance, mentorship, motivation and support for a team of Business Development Managers, while also building your own portfolio. You will be responsible for supporting your team to generate and convert leads and build client relationships to reach or exceed sales targets. Your Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Business Development Managers to achieve
targets - Develop and implement strategies and
tactics to exceed annual revenue, sales targets and improve the overall
performance of your team - Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities including
lead generation & cold calling - To align your sales efforts with the Customer Care and Pricing
teams, including being involved in pricing decisions and implementation of
new customers - Developing and delivering sales proposals and presentations on
Kuehne+Nagel products and services - To focus on customer engagement, satisfaction & retention
through high levels of service quality in close collaboration with the
Customer Care Team - To ensure accurate, timely and comprehensive data management by
your team in the KN CRM
- An in depth understanding of international freight processes,
specifically in Sea Logistics - Experience in developing, mentoring and cultivating a high
performing team to deliver results - Track record in solutions sales with proven success in gaining new
business and growing margins - Impeccable communication skills and personal presentation
- Ambitious and driven to exceed sales targets and KPIs
- Ability to lead, drive and motivate a team based nationwide
- Resilient and able to quickly gain credibility with a range of
different people - Demonstrable negotiating and influencing skills that deliver
results
