Te
Manatū Waka, Ministry of Transport, is the system leader for the transport
sector whether it's on land, at sea, in the air, or connecting Aotearoa to
the world. We are the government's principal adviser on transport policy,
regulation and investment and play a crucial role in ensuring the transport
system is working to improve the prosperity for New Zealanders.
The
Ministry's key responsibilities include providing policy advice to Government
including the development of investment and regulatory settings, legislative
advice and Crown agency governance, accountability and performance.

In the
Chief Financial Officer role as head of finance and the primary finance adviser
to the Executive, a key focus will be to uncover and execute the opportunities
to improve our finance function through driving positive process change,
increasing technical capability, mitigating risks and building a high
performing team. Leadership and mentoring skills will be critical as is finance
experience within a government department, especially as the Ministry keeps
pace in the current environment.

CA qualificationExtensive accounting
experience from within the public sector including experience successfully
managing budgeting and appropriation processesA process improvement
mindset and action orientation, demonstrated by previous results in
improving internal controls and driving function and performanceA confident and engaged
style of people leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate and
lead a high performance teamExcellent skills in
building and maintaining enduring internal and external relationshipsA Confidential level
national security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain this
level of clearance
Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
The salary budget is $169,590 to $220,000 per annum. The salary offered will be based on your skills and experience.
