Te Papa is seeking a hospitality and functions team leader who takes pride in their work on a casual basis, enjoys a fast paced environment, enjoys the challenge of creating a WOW factor event for their client and can motivate their team.

If you are great team player, want to be part of providing amazing events in some of Wellington's most iconic function venues and enjoy leading the service team to wow your our guests, then this is the job opportunity for you.


Ideally you will have:

  • Prior experience with supervising an events or hospitality team
  • Proven track record in a similar position
  • Customerfocused attitude and ability to build effective client and staff relationships
  • A passion to create a WOW factor functions
  • Excellent organisation and personable skills
  • Good relationship building skills and the ability to motivate and get results from working with a broad range of people and within a team environment
  • Attention to detail and time management
  • Hold a Manager's Certificate (essential)
  • A current First Aid qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Negotiation and consultation skills
The work across our operation is a busy 7 day operation, fast paced and a fantastic, friendly team environment, so come join us

The hourly rate for this position will be a minimum of $30.00. Applications close on
