Te Mahi - About the job

  • Host, produce and deliver our Sunday Afternoons arts & culture show on RNZ National
  • Be part of creating a refreshed format for the Midday to 4pm Sunday programme
  • Create great stories and guest content for the radio show & online
  • Deliver a high quality, topical, live experience for our audiences through strong story selection, research and angle generation and high production values
  • Meet our audience needs online and on social media
  • Have the experience & flexibility to cover other shows on air as a backup host
  • Work Wednesday to Sunday (but hours are flexible outside Sunday)

  • A strong connection with the arts, culture & music communities
  • Passion and drive to identify great stories and guests
  • An ability to turn stories into compelling content for both broadcast and digital platforms
  • A wealth of proven live radio presentation & content generation experience in talk formats
  • Ability to work closely with other RNZ arts & culture content providers and RNZ National programme teams
  • Thorough understanding of online and social media requirements
  • A journalism or comms qualification would be an advantage
