Role Overview:


As the Māori Data Governance Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our client's information governance work by incorporating Te Māori perspectives on principles, structures, accountability mechanisms, legal instruments, and policies.

Your expertise in Māori data governance will be instrumental in driving meaningful change and enhancing their responsibilities to Te Māori through a data and information lens.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Infuse Te Māori perspectives into our information governance practices, ensuring that principles, structures, and policies are aligned with Māori values.
  • Lead and advise on change management strategies that empower our organization to honor our responsibilities to Te Māori through data and information governance.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and experience in establishing and evolving Māori data governance capability across the Ministry.
  • Engage effectively with peers across government and Māori data networks, fostering collaboration and mutual understanding.

Requirements:

  • A profound understanding of Māori data governance, coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in advising and implementing change management strategies that incorporate Te Māori perspectives.
  • Proven capability in establishing and evolving Māori data governance practices within an organization.
  • A strong ability to engage and collaborate with government peers and Māori data networks, fostering positive relationships.
  • An appreciation for the significance of Māori knowledge and values in information governance.
