Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity


The primary purpose of the Data Services Coordinator role is to provide strong and effective coordination support to the manager and analysts in the National Collections Data Services Team, and to assist other teams in the wider National Collections (NC) Group.


This will include developing and maintaining efficient administrative systems and processes to manage team functions such as logging jobs and standing orders, data sharing, invoicing, filing, and coordinating.

You will manage the approval process for website updates to ensure data products are published within set timeframes, and assist with data administration and data management work in other NCR teams.

This role is fixed term for 10 months to cover maternity leave, with a start date of mid-May 2024.

As a team player, collaboration and building relationships with others comes naturally to you. You bring a high-level of organisational skills, sharp eye for detail, and high level of accuracy in your work. Your proficiency in numeracy and comfort with data will see you flourish in this role


Previous work experience where administration or coordination were key components of your work would be beneficial however we will also welcome applicants who can demonstrate these skills from non-paid experience or related fields.

  • High level of computer literacy including a good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Numeracy skills the ability to work with and check data.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to manage relationships with a range of people.
  • Ability to develop, maintain and improve operational systems for example tracking, filing, and invoicing.
  • Excellent organisational skills, and ability to manage a large range of jobs simultaneously.
  • A good understanding of the importance of data quality and accuracy, including accuracy of data entry and data checking.
