The Performance and Quality team provides support to Learning Support services throughout the Hawke's Bay / Tairāwhiti region. The Learning Support team is made up of 60+ practitioners and managers based in our Napier and Gisborne offices.

We work with colleague's right across the Ministry, supporting regional performance and quality to identifying opportunities to improve outcomes for all learners.


We have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced person to work closely with our practitioners and managers to allocate resources to support students with additional learning support needs ensuring that systems support the efficient and effective use of resources.

The Senior Advisor also supports the delivery of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) initiatives across the region.

These are designed to help parents, whānau, teachers, early childhood centres and schools to address behaviour, improve children's well-being and increase educational achievement.


The successful applicant will have:
- a relevant tertiary qualification or significant relevant experience
- experience managing internal operating budget processes as well as finances and resources
- demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and effective networks with key internal and external stakeholders
- high level of conceptual and analytical capability
- ability to develop innovative and effective solutions to complex and diverse problems

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
- excellent attention to detail and time management

The position is a fulltime, permanent role based in either our Napier or Gisborne office. It reports to the Performance and Quality Lead, Hawke's Bay/Tairawhiti.
