About the role

Integrated Safety Response (ISR) is a multi-agency initiative ensuring families experiencing family violence get the help they need from Government and community services.

ISR involves core agencies closely working together to support victims, perpetrators and their families. ISR operates in two sites - Christchurch and Hamilton.


Police is the operational lead and hosting agency for ISR, as part of Te Puna Aonui - the Joint Venture for Family Violence and Sexual Violence.

ISR operates seven days a week, so flexibility is required as you may be required to work some weekends and statutory holidays.


In this role you will manage up to 10 direct reports and support the operational aspects of a multi-agency programme.

Key Accountabilities:

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Monitor and analyse ISR to ensure it is effective and provide strategies for improvement
  • Communicate and lead the delivery of a compelling vision, which aligns with strategic goals, and motivates others
  • Recommend improvements to the Integrated Safety Response in keeping with guidelines and with input from stakeholders
  • Support the frontline staff to provide an effective and timely response to those in need
  • Identify and drive continual improvement based on the evidence provided from the Safety Assessment and Intensive Case Management Meetings and stakeholders

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. management, psychology, education, social work, health).


This role is set at Team Leader/Manager level, this means your key purpose is "to lead the activities for Our Business and enable people to deliver them.
