This is one of five roles advertised for the Portfolio Management Office within Defence Estate and Infrastructure (DEI). A fantastic opportunity to help re-shape the team, contributing to our interesting, vibrant and high performing team culture.

A key member of the Portfolio Management Office, the Portfolio Stakeholder and Governance Advisor will develop and maintain stakeholder relationships for DEI.

This will include developing and maintaining a framework for stakeholder engagement, supporting the Portfolio Management Office with a focus on stakeholder engagement and governance.

You will be responsible for providing comprehensive and systematic secretariat support to the three monthly single service liaison meetings. Developing effective relationships throughout NZDF with senior users and stakeholders will be essential for success.

With support from the Senior Governance Advisor, you will provide secretariat support and governance advice for DEI by consulting on the governance system, business cases and decision documents.

This role must be based in Wellington CBD.

Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is the option of working from home one-two days a week.

  • Strong technical ability, including experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with portfolio, programme and project management (P3M) is desirable but not essential.

Defence Estate and Infrastructure develop, maintain and manage land, property, and infrastructure assets in order to support NZDF military capabilities and all of government outcomes.

The Defence estate comprises over 80,000ha of land with infrastructure and buildings, with a replacement value of some $2.8bn.

The Portfolio Management Office (PfMO) is responsible for leading the integration of the portfolio, programme, and project management - P3M - capability across Estate and Infrastructure.

The PfMO adds value by focusing decisions on the things that matter most to the organisation and governance boards in order to support the achievement of NZDF outcomes.
