This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration range for this role is 73,174 to 103,305 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity

At Wellington Water the need to access and utilise good quality data and information is increasingly important across all roles in our business, for the delivery of our services and the way we work together.

The new water regulations will only amplify the role data and information will play in the future to inform our priorities, operate efficiently, and demonstrate compliance.

Working closely with all functions within Wellington Water and the wider Digital Products and Services (DPS) team, you will provide geospatial data management expertise to a diverse range of users who view, use, and create spatial content and services within the ArcGIS platform.


Specifically, you will do the following:

  • Create, maintain, and support spatial services for use in and outside of Wellington Water
  • Continuously seek out opportunities to standardise and improve geospatial data sets and content
  • Manage an evergrowing library of authoritative geospatial content and data, encouraging its use and ensuring each is well managed, maintained, documented and accessible
  • Provide proactive and reactive support, training, and advice to a wide range of ArcGIS users who are using, creating, and managing ArcGIS content, services, and geospatial data sets
  • Support the development of various solutions by providing your geospatial data expertise
  • Support platform administration and operational activities, including managing content permissions and platform membership
About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience in geospatial data management
  • Two or more years experience using ESRI software (including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise)
  • Experience working with complex geospatial data and processes

Additionally, the following would be desirable:

  • Knowledge or experience with physical asset data sets, infrastructure networks, three waters infrastructure, or district plans
  • You have, or are working towards, an ESRI certification
  • Experience working within an agile environment and/or in a crossfunctional team
About our team

The Digital Products and Services (DPS) team develops and maintains digital products and provides digital services used by Wellington Water, our client councils, and our partners.

The Data Quality function (within the DPS team) champions the importance of quality, well-managed data across all parts of Wellington Water.

The function primarily provides Asset Management, Geospatial and Time Series expertise to both DPS and Wellington Water.
