At NZCommunity Living, we are dedicated to support disabled people in New Zealand.

Our Disability Support Services reflect our belief that all people deserve to live fully, have equal opportunities, and achieve their ambitions.

We are looking for three people with lived experience of disability to join our Towards Independence project team.


The project is being established for months to build resources and networks for people with disabilities who are making changing in their living arrangements.

Project team members are accountable for working together and for achieving project deliverables.


The project team will undertake training between August and December 2023 and appointees must commit to participating fully in these workshop sessions - attendance will be paid.

Project team members will be employed on a casual basis and paid $22.70 per hour.

Specific duties, which will be supported, are:

  • Participating in training.
  • Attending meetings.
  • Presenting at meetings and workshops.
  • Undertaking research.
  • Developing resource materials and presentations.
  • Completing tasks assigned to them in the project plan.
  • Liaising with others (including community groups and other providers).

Applicants must:

- have lived experience of disability.
- know about enabling good lives.
- be able to make their own travel arrangements to meet training & work commitments in Palmerston North.
