This is a full time, permanent, hybrid role.

About the role


The Specialist Trustee role is key in supporting Public Trust in protecting the legacies of more New Zealanders than ever before by providing exceptional, professional, and customer-focused service for challenging Trusts and estates that need support to progress.

You will also support the growth of the team's capability and contribute to raising Public Trust's profile in the community.

This is a varied and challenging role and responsibilities include:

  • Complex Trust administration
  • Complex estate planning, administration and distribution
  • Complex PA/PPPR
  • Proactive customer portfolio management

Who we're looking for

  • Mapping to Step 6/7 in QTS framework, or near enough (this will need to be completed within 6 months of acquiring role.
  • 4+ years in a Trustee role
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Comfortable and confident using digital channels to engage with customers
  • Curiosity and an ability to make the tricky seem simple
  • Confidence in using the Customer Engagement Model to support quality conversations
  • The ability to have quality conversations with stakeholders and communicate well in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Uses NavOne to the best effect when managing files
  • Has strong commercial acumen, valuing time and effectively managing the fees and costs of estate delivery
  • Proven ability to resolve complex challenges
