The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Climate Risk Specialist to join Auckland Council's Chief Sustainability Office. This role will be pivotal in pioneering climate disclosures in the public sector.


You will be responsible for providing expert advice on the identification and management of the Auckland Council Group's climate risks and supporting the group to achieve compliance with the Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards.

A key part of this role will be establishing a group wide climate risk management framework.

You will work closely with the risk and sustainability managers from each council entity to ensure a consistent approach is taken to climate risk management across the group.

You have proven experience working in large and complex organisations and are confident to have conversations with senior leaders to challenge and support evolving risk management practices.


You will be an autonomous individual who can adapt to new ways of working, and have a desire to continually upskill in all matters relating to climate risk.
