About the role

CPG Hotels is excited to recruit for a Human Resources Administrator to join our South Island team.

Reporting to the Group Human Resources Manager, your primary responsibilities are HR administration and recruitment. You will also assist with the roll out and implementation of HR initiatives, projects, compliance, and Learning & Development.

This is a full-time role, based at our Head Office in Auckland Central. There is also an opportunity for you to relocate to Christchurch in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Administration tasks including posting job advertisements, conducting initial screenings and reference checks, preparing employment documents, etc.
  • Maintain employee records and our HRIS - Zambion, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all information.
  • Process payroll information, including new hires, terminations, and changes, in collaboration with the Payroll Manager
  • Develop and maintain HR compliance knowledge
  • Support HR projects and initiatives, such as recognition programs, policy updates, and employee engagement surveys
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
  • Coordinate and attend to queries from General Managers and Heads of Departments with the assistance of the Group HR Manager

What we are looking for in the ideal candidate:

  • At least one year experience as a HR Administrator or similar; experience in hotel is a strong advantage.
  • Tertiary qualification in HR or psychology
  • Good understanding of basic NZ employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Willingness to grow and develop your expertise
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changes in priorities
  • Excellent attention to details and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
  • Exceptional time management and organisations skills to handle multiple projects at once
  • Familiar with MS Suites applications such as Words, Excel, and Teams
  • Valid rights to work in New Zealand is a must
