Job Description

Project

The Eastern Busway is a significant project that is about more than just better transport. It will increase access to jobs and education, connect people to social and community opportunities, attract investment and growth, enable urban development, and help reduce emissions.

Its efficient services will give nearby communities some great options for cycling, walking or using the bus, and it will be a vital part of the public transport network in Tāmaki Makaurau for decades to come.

The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to provide construction planning, monitoring and controlling in terms of Works Package Programme that effectively supports the Eastern Busway Alliance project in attaining its business objectives and achieving excellence in its key result areas.

To be successful you will bring strong leadership and excellent Primavera skills which will compliment your extensive Planning experience.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Preparation of detailed IPAA and PAA programmes from input received Alliance workstream leads.
  • Coordination between workstreams within the alliance (as per the Alliance org chart) in order to prepare the plan and programme.
  • Presentation/dissemination of planning/programming philosophy as approved or agreed with the ALT.
  • Monitoring progress during IPAA and re-programming when required
  • Identify risks and opportunities to the program and develop sensitivity analysis.
  • Prepare various strategies for all planning activities for projects, including program/resource optimization.
  • Lead the programme implementation on the Alliance.
  • Monthly reporting on progress
  • Development of Recovery programmes

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Ideally Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Engineering Technology (similar) or related field experience.
  • 5+ years' experience as a project-based Planner with at least 2 years in a leadership/lead role
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera (P6) including demonstrated experience maintaining/updating Primavera schedules
  • Strong leadership exposure
  • Experience developing construction and commissioning schedules.
  • Demonstrated decision-making, prioritization, planning and analytical skills.
