The Property Group Limited (TPG) is a locally owned property and RMA planning consultancy, bringing Kiwis together to build Aotearoa New Zealand for over two decades. We are on the hunt for a Senior Planner to join our Auckland & Northland team, based in the Auckland office.

About the role

We are looking to appoint an experienced senior planner to join our growing planning team in Auckland. The role will also provide planning support to our other offices as required.

Our planning team is a talented group of people. They are experts in what they do and have strong technical planning experience in the Resource Management Act (RMA) and urban planning. TPG provides a full package of planning and property advice to our clients, so you will also get to work collaboratively alongside our property, urban regeneration, development and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) teams.

The range of work you can typically expect to be involved with includes securing resource consents for development projects, preparing notices of requirement for infrastructure projects, processing resource consents for local authorities, and preparing district plan changes, or submissions on these.

About you

We are ideally looking for someone who understands the local planning framework in the Auckland region. You will be working in an established office of planning and property professionals and expected to provide technical planning support and leadership within the office. You will report to our Auckland & Northland Planning Manager. If you have the following skills and experience, or the potential to develop in these, then we would love to hear from you:

  • A minimum of six years RMA planning experience, ideally in a private consultancy or local government
  • A passion for providing astute and practical planning advice
  • Ability to combine your technical planning background with an eye for business development opportunities
  • Strong relationship management experience and a track record of forging strong relationships with colleagues (and for those with consultancy experience, clients).
