Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role

Your proven experience in the print industry, sound knowledge of the design and print process and excellent relationship management skills will help produce and deliver educational books and curriculum resources.


You will be part of a team that:

  • Plans & coordinates complex projects within a large, dynamic organisation
  • Advises & guides internal business owners on timely and costeffective solutions
  • Works with internal designers, external design agencies and external print suppliers
  • Gets printed resources into the hands of Aotearoa's teachers and students

Mōhou ake | About you

We're looking for an experienced person to support our Production Manager providing advice and services that deliver cost-effective Ministry communications.

To be successful in this role, you'll use your proven background in the print industry, blending your technical skills, accuracy, project scoping and planning abilities with quality stakeholder engagement and relationship building.

You will need strong organisational and communication skills to manage multiple projects at one time, in an environment where priorities constantly shift.

You should be a 'problem solver' with interpersonal savvy, and have the ability to be honest and up-front with stakeholders.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.

You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau.

To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.

This role is part of the newly formed Design and Production Team within the External Communications & Engagement Team, within Communications, Engagement & Ministerials, within Te Pou Rangatōpū.
