About the role:


As a Digital Services Engineer, you will work as a trusted advisor assisting multiple customers with ICT systems support and project delivery.


  • You will take a leadership role, reviewing our ongoing technology needs and continually improving the environment; contribute to roadmaps and partner with customers to achieve their business outcomes.
  • Developing proposals for new and/or improved services in discussion with the Team Leader and library and other business unit staff and taking action as agreed
  • Proactively work with library and IT staff to understand their business needs
  • Development, design, analysis, design, definition and documentation of the standard images used within Library and other Council Business Units.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level incident and problem management assistance and leadership

About you:

You will be customer orientated with excellent consulting and communication skills. You will enjoy working with people to understand their business, build relationships, solve problems and mentor team members.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other relevant discipline, or evidence of ability to work at that level.
  • 3 years' experience in setting up and installing hardware in a Windows based environment and a strong knowledge of Windows.
  • 3 years' experience in designing desktop PC builds, scripting and automation of software installations. Use of Microsoft deployment tools.
  • Understand firewalling & security technologies & principles


Contribute to the establishment of standards for software/hardware implementation procedures and performance by making recommendations and working in conjunction with the Team Leader.

Hours of work - 40 Hours
Location - This position is primarily based at 53 Hereford Street, Christchurch
