MBIE's Te Kupenga (Māori Economic Development Unit) is looking for a person to be key interface across MBIE, its partners, and Māori customers.

Someone who is adept at managing multiple projects and a varied workload.

Attention to detail will be great Equally, a proven ability to get things done, diplomacy skills and strong customer service ethos that will set you in good stead and provide plenty of opportunity for growth.

The Operations Manager position is responsible for supporting Te Kupenga team to efficiently and effectively execute projects and initiatives to support Māori employment, enterprise, rangatahi, regions and training.


  • By providing highcalibre support to the Te Tumu Houkura
  • General Manager Māori and Branch Leadership Team
  • A varied, challenging and rewarding role in the Māori economic development space
  • Leading a team of 5 staff you will oversee the team reporting, management of two funds (the Maori Innovation Fund and Enabling Māori Framework fund), input into the Key Result Areas for team and collation of information and data that contributes to the economic prosperity for Māori Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana
  • Skills and experience required:
  • The Operations & Investment Manager position is responsible for supporting Te Kupenga team to efficiently and effectively execute projects and initiatives to support Māori employment, enterprise, rangatahi, regions and training.

  • Achieving endtoend management and distribution of two investment funds the Māori Innovation Fund and the Enabling Māori Framework (EMF).
  • Ensuring that Investment Plans are developed and implemented.
