Dental/Oral Health Therapist, Oral Health Service

Gisborne, Gisborne, New Zealand Waitemata District Health Board Full time

Job Description - Dental/Oral Health Therapist, Oral Health Service (Various Opportunities) (HAU01475)

Dental/Oral Health Therapist, Oral Health Service (Various Opportunities)

Our diverse and innovative team is passionate about the 'why' they do what they do and the positive influence they can make in the lives of our tamariki and whānau. We provide a great learning environment, where no two days are the same. You will get the opportunity to work at the top of your scope, develop your practice and insights every day, with supportive team members that you can count on. You will be able to practice in both hygiene and therapy skill as part of our flexible service. We are driven and focused on improving equity to our community, with a 'whatever it takes' approach.

Our Manaaki Tairāwhiti Way of Working involves us working collectively across agencies to enable whanau to flourish. There is a shift to interdisciplinary/transdisciplinary approach, which identifies needs of whānau and the best people to provide support—requesting the right support at the right time in the right place. The workforce shares information, works flexibly and collectively to reduce barriers and provide the support that the whānau needs and requests. The transdisciplinary approach reduces barriers and improves access for whānau as teams walk beside people until they get what they need and are not bound by outdated service definitions, with criteria that reflects service structures rather than the needs of children and whānau.

If you have a current NZ Registration (DCNZ) or in the process of obtaining registration and if you have an understanding of the Tairawhiti community and their oral health needs, I look forward to receiving your application. If you would like further information regarding this great opportunity, please contact Bonita Mackey on or email .
