The Opportunity | Te Kōwhiringa
The Contract Engineer in our Waikato Asphalt Paving team is focused on supporting the operational delivery team.

This is a varied role that will prove to be both challenging and rewarding as you embark on a collaborative journey designing, planning, and executing a range of road maintenance projects.


You will be required to work with our established teams using their experience and abilities to pull together plans, required by the onsite delivery team to execute our work successfully.


This includes:

  • Talking to our traffic management planners, stakeholder managers, sealing crews, traffic management crews, construction crews and clients.
  • Carrying out the delivery reporting on the asphalt operations as well as monitoring QA.
  • Handling the financial management of all the paving projects
  • Ensuring a focus on Health & Safety within the team
This role is well suited to someone who is looking to get a well-rounded experience in surfacing.

To be successful within this role we are looking for a team player who will bring with them the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in the construction or civil industry
  • Experienced in project financial management and reporting
  • Ability to work across geographical boundaries, nights and weekends as required
  • Preferably hold or working towards gaining a tertiary qualification in engineering
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively with clients and subcontractors
  • Strong experience using MS Office and Project
  • Current Full Drivers' License
