Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The primary functions of the Health Promoter are:

  • To demonstrate effectiveness in using health promotion principles, theories and practices to support NPHS to achieve its vision and goals for Tāmaki Makaurau
  • Te ora ō Tāmaki Makaurau.
  • To plan, implement, manage and evaluate health promotion strategies and programmes in accordance with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and health promotion frameworks (such as The Ottawa Charter or Te Pae Mahutonga).
  • To work in collaboration with other stakeholders to influence the delivery of strategic health promotion programmes and initiatives that address inequities and contribute to health gains for the people of the Auckland region.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
The successful person will have the following experience and skillset:

  • A commitment to biculturalism
  • A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • Three or more years' experience in health promotion, project management or a relevant discipline, and experience working with Māori and Pacific Peoples.
  • Experience of relationship management with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
