Our Opportunity

The Category Manager for Grocery & Ingredients is responsible for leading the commercial analysis of the grocery & ingredients portfolio including both branded and private label.

This role is an integral member of the Portfolio Marketing & Category team leading consumer, category, brand and customer data insight, to enable decision making that drives the strategic direction of the portfolio.

As Category Manager, you will

  • Support the development of the 3 year strategic channel & customer plans and the execution of the 1 year plan across retail channels
  • Work with the Head of Portfolio Grocery & Ingredients to identify growth drivers and translate into channelspecific actionable plans
  • Build strong relationships with customers and demonstrate that GF is the clear market leader in delivering categorycentric insights with clear actionable execution plans linked to shopper behaviour
  • Develop tools and frameworks to enable fact based decision making on short and long term planning horizons
  • Develop performance tracking tools which enable the business to be kept briefed on customer, channel and category performance, issues and opportunities
  • Conduct internal/bespoke research to identify customer and internal market opportunities
  • Using data to influence internal and external stakeholders across the 4P mix
  • Lead collaboration with retailers to deliver increased category profit by supporting the sales teams in customer reviews and key projects
About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in Category Management, Sales or Marketing within an FMCG environment or similar environment
  • Experience in use of IRI Aztec, Nielsen, Home scan, Microsoft suite and exposure to other forms of consumer and shopper insight methods
  • An ability to analyse and interpret data from a range of sources & draw valid conclusions
  • An ability to communicate complex information in an easily understandable manner to all levels of the business
  • Strong commercial & financial acumen
  • A growth mindset
