As we continue to grow and evolve, we seek a strategic and experienced General Manager of Procurement to join our senior management team in New Zealand.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the NZ Director of Engineering and Infrastructure, the GM Procurement will lead the negotiation of all buying arrangements for Kinetic NZ. This role is crucial in developing, leading, and executing procurement strategies to ensure comprehensive oversight of all contract arrangements.

The GM Procurement will play a pivotal role in achieving the Group's strategic objectives by building effective, collaborative relationships with the Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Relationship Management and Customer Service:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to ensure collaborative procurement activities across all parts of the Group.
  • Build effective commercial relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely and specification-compliant supply solutions.
  • Propose alternative supplier options and ensure all stakeholder feedback is addressed.

Procurement/Fleet:

  • Lead sourcing and negotiation of procurement requirements, leveraging opportunities for scalable negotiations across the broader Kinetic Group.
  • Manage parts procurement for workshops in collaboration with the Director of Engineering and ensure all Depots and Workshops purchase through approved suppliers.
  • Educate internal stakeholders on procurement workflows, processes, and systems.
  • Implement future technology options to improve reporting accuracy for fleet maintenance costs and stock control.
  • Ensure a reliable and robust supply chain for all key products and services.

People Management:

  • Provide clear direction and guidance on the company's strategy and objectives.
  • Set and review goals, objectives, and expectations, addressing performance gaps and development needs.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure safety and compliance requirements are integrated into contractor/supplier decisions and arrangements.
  • Promote safe work practices and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
  • Ensure staff and contractors are fully trained on HSEQ policies and procedures.

Corporate Contribution:

  • Foster a culture that supports operational excellence and values staff and customers.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve systems, processes, and work practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful you will have previous management experience in Procurement with a focus on tendering, pricing, project management, and contract negotiations. Experience in the transport industry would be an advantage. You will also be familiar with sourcing, vendor management, and will have the ability to analyze data.

Strong leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills are essential and a Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration is preferred.
