About the Role


As Renewable Design Manager, you will lead the design management of renewable energy projects for both the NewPower and Infratec New Zealand businesses utilising the latest technologies, processes, and systems to achieve the best project outcomes for stakeholders.

In this role you will manage the development of new technology workstreams from feasibility to build to operation. This senior role reports to the GM Infratec.

Infratec is seeking high achieving individuals who are looking to develop their strategic, design management and leadership skills in a fast paced industry.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage design standards and methodology from concept through to operation
  • Ensure design specifications and work packages are fit for purpose
  • Optimise design processes ad systems
  • Implement new technology, systems and software, where necessary
  • Develop and maintain commercial models, including develop internal modelling tools to be relevant for tasks and utilised by team
  • Manage and mentor team members and ensure quality technical output of the Infratec team
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external parties

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in fields relatable to renewable energy, engineering or science
  • 5+ years post graduate experience
  • Team management experience
  • Experience in a renewable energy design role, in utility scale solar PV, BESS and Microgrid systems is desirable
  • Experienced in planning, scheduling and coordinating team resources and workload
  • Experience with design and or design build contract negotiation and execution
  • Experienced in managing supplier and subcontractor relationships, supply chain and logistics management
