Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of 6 trained Line Mechanics in the construction of 17km of overhead lines, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including engineers and local authorities, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety guidelines
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in troubleshooting and resolving any issues or challenges encountered during the construction process
  • Monitor project progress, manage resources effectively, and address any obstacles to ensure the timely completion of the project
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting team cohesion and individual development
  • Embrace the unique opportunity to live and work on a remote island, demonstrating adaptability and cultural sensitivity

Skills & Experience

  • Registered Line Mechanic with current practising licence
  • Ideally an appropriate technical qualification to NZQA Level 6 or equivalent
  • Team management experience
  • Expert in industry safety and electrical safety statutory requirements
